Doctoral Scholarships in Energy Science, Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University, Japan International Doctoral Program (IDP) in Energy Science Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University The international Doctoral Program in Energy Science is offered to provide foreign students and researchers, who have a Master’s degree (or equivalent), an opportunity to further their studies toward a Doctoral degree at Kyoto University. In this Doctoral Program, Japanese proficiency is not required since students can obtain the necessary credits by choosing ones among a variety of subjects presented in English and their research works are also supervised in English. An evaluation of eligibility for admission will be made on the basis of the documents submitted to our School Affairs Office. Eight students will be admitted each year with a scholarship from the Japanese Government. Scholarship Allowance: 155,000 to 158,000yen per month for at most 36 months (subject to change depending upon the annual budget of each year) Travel to and from Japan: Economy-class round trip airfare School fees: Exemption from the entrance and tuition fees

General Information
The Infrastructure Management Program is formally administered by the International Graduate School of Social Sciences’ International and Business Law Department, but it is in fact jointly planned and conducted by all of YNU’s graduate schools. In working toward a Master’s Degree through the Infrastructure Management Program, students will study in areas associated with the International Graduate School of Social Sciences, the graduate schools of Education, Engineering, and Environmental and Information Sciences as well as the International Student Center.
This Program 2009-2011 is the eighth cohort under the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program which began in April 1995. YNU welcomed 113 graduate students so far under the program from all over the world and 110 students obtained the Master’s Degree in March 2009.

Pendahuluan
Alam Aksara adalah perkumpulan para sukarelawan yang berdedikasi untuk mengembangkan kesempatan bagi pelajar di Indonesia untuk mendapatkan pendidikan. Diawali pada tahun 2002 oleh Dede Prabowo yang berdomisili di Jepang dengan melibatkan keluarganya di Indonesia, Alam Aksara telah berkembang dan mencakup sukarelawan dan donatur dari berbagai negara.
Tujuan
Alam Aksara menyediakan beasiswa untuk pelajar Indonesia yang mengalami kesulitan finansial untuk menyelesaikan pendidikannya. Beasiswa tersebut berasal dari para sponsor/donatur pribadi, dan kebijakan kami adalah menyampaikan seluruh (100 persen) donasi tersebut kepada pelajar yang bersangkutan.
Cara Beroperasi
Melalui jaringan sukarelawan di Indonesia dan Jepang, Alam Aksara menyeleksi pelajar calon penerima beasiwa, kemudian membantu mencarikan donatur untuk mereka. Para pelajar tersebut diseleksi oleh koordinator lokal di Indonesia di mana mereka berdomisili. Para koordinator kemudian menyampaikan rekomendasi mereka kepada kantor pusat di Tokyo untuk diproses.
Kriteria penerima beasiswa
Siswa berasal dari keluarga berekonomi lemah tetapi memiliki keinginan dan tekad kuat untuk belajar dan menyelesaikan pendidikan sesuai dengan kemampuannya. Prestasi belajar adalah faktor yang penting tetapi bukan penentu. Selama program berjalan, penerima beasiswa diharapkan untuk menunjukkan peningkatan nilai dan mutu belajarnya yang dimonitor melalui nilai rapor setiap semester. Keluarga siswa juga harus menunjukkan dukungan terhadap usaha belajar siswa. Prioritas diberikan kepada siswa yang selain bertekad kuat juga memiliki potensi untuk membantu ekonomi keluarganya dan berperan bagi masyarakat sekitarnya setelah pendidikannya selesai.
